Sew and Tell: Boxy Mint Crepe Top
Saturday, August 10, 2013
I had a remnant of green crepe and had no idea what to do with it, but summer came by, and the thought of an airy light top was appealing. I sewed a boxy top with cuffed sleeves and used mint bias tape around the neck and hem. The trickiest part was cutting the shifty fabric, so it was good the entire thing required only one piece of fabric.
The neckline was a bit too loose by necessity: there was a pull in the fabric that I had to cut around. I ended up adding pleats to the center front and center back of the neckline to tighten it up, and quite like the way it drapes!
