How To: Shorten a Belt
I can't ever seem to find belts that are the right size to fit around the skinny part of the waist. Do you have the same problem? Let me show you how!
Tools of the trade: A leather punch, heavy duty (kitchen) scissors, permanent marker / colored nail polish / acrylic paint.
Estimate the desired length of your belt. Cut to length (pick a spot to cut between holes, or far from holes), and round the edge with your scissors. Add holes using the smallest sized punch available. Color the new edge of the belt.
A permanent marker is a quick and easy fix for most dark colored belts, but nailpolish and paint would work as well to hide evidence of your alteration. Done!
