I reused a few bottles to make jam for Christmas presents, and wanted a way to make them look more appealing when presented. Here are a few ideas for packaging homemade jam.
1) The jar bonnet! At least that's what I like to call it. It looks like a lovely sun hat doesn't it?
All you need is ribbon or string, and a circle of fabric large enough to cover the top of your jam jar. Position the fabric circle on top, and tie into place.
2) Quick labels. No printer? No problem! You can take a square of contact paper and use a ballpoint pen to write up a handmade label. A fine tip permanent marker would be easier, but I didn't have one on hand.
Really this could go for anything in a jar, and not just jam. P.S. My new favorite jam recipe is this one: Blueberry lime jam via Gourmeted.
