We needed a filing cabinet for our little office area and I managed to score a free one on Craigslist. The cabinet was dented in a couple of places and the drawers were kicked in. Luckily the filing cabinet is made from thin sheet metal. Some patient (noisy) hammering got the cabinet into mostly decent looking shape. There were, however, a few small dents and evidence of my hammering on the cream cabinet. The solution? A roll and a half of contact paper! The original cabinet looked a lot like the image to the left, and what you see to the right is how this DIY turned out. Not too shabby for 5$ worth of materials and a little bit of elbow grease eh?
